Oh, it seemed like such a good idea at the time – what better way to get the dirt on your opponents than to have state troopers do the snooping. Nobody would ever complain about that type of thing…if they never found out.
ALBANY — Albany County District Attorney David Soares faced a new round of criticism Wednesday after his apparent decision to hold off on empanelling a grand jury to probe whether a former top aide to Gov. Eliot Spitzer committed perjury in the “Troopergate” scandal.
