Oh, this is so not the first time Democrats have tried out in the states to void the Constitution on this issue: Don’t believe us – look here, here, here, and here.
New Jersey could find itself dropping out of the Electoral College by the end of the year.The state Assembly is expected to vote on a measure today that would place New Jersey in an interstate agreement requiring the state’s electors to cast their vote for president and vice president based on the national popular vote winner — effectively circumventing the Constitution by changing the way presidents are elected without an amendment.
