A Lucas County judge has dismissed the lead paint lawsuit brought by Toledo against Sherwin-Williams Co. and other former producers of lead pigment.
The decision leaves Columbus as the only Ohio city still suing the Cleveland paint maker and its co-defendants. Several other cities dropped their cases after Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann sued the industry on behalf of the entire state earlier this year.
Common Pleas Court Judge Ruth Franks on Wednesday denied Toledo’s effort to hold the industry accountable for cleaning up lead paint in homes and buildings.
