Attorney General-elect Buddy Caldwell
says that his son, who is already an assistant attorney general,
will retain his job when Caldwell takes over next month.
Caldwell’s son, David Caldwell Junior, is paid about $68,000 per
year and is one of several who work in the criminal division.

Kudos for Buddy Caldwell. I felt that it would be awful to punish Buddy’s son, David, because his dad was elected. David just won an aggravated rape case in New Orleans after all of the evidence was destroyed in the katrina-flooded crime lab. He is a good attorney and has worked for that office for three years. Great for Buddy for not allowing politics to persuade him to lose a fine attorney.
