A local time-share resale company has agreed to pay nearly $100,000 to settle the state’s investigation into a series of consumer complaints about its telemarketing practices, Florida legal officials said Monday.
Altamonte Springs-based Equity Marketing Corp. — doing business as Resort Equity Marketing — will refund more than $50,000 to clients who complained that the company engaged in misleading telemarketing-sales pitches, according to the Office of Attorney General Bill McCollum.
