Republicans in Virginia remember all to well the overly rosy budget forecast from Governor Mark Warner (Democrat) that got the commonwealth in a tight spot – budgetarily speaking of course.
Del. Lacey Putney, I-Bedford, and House Speaker William Howell teamed up Thursday to ask Gov. Timothy M. Kaine to call a special meeting of economic advisors to rethink the revenue forecasts used in Kaine’s proposed budget.Putney, new chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, and Howell said in a letter to Kaine that the budget he proposed on Monday may be too optimistic.
