Seth Hammett, entering his 10th year as speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives and his 29th year as the Democratic representative from Andalusia’s 92nd District, has his eye on the governor’s chair.
Whether he will seek the state’s top executive position when Gov. Bob Riley steps aside in 2010 remains uncertain.
But Hammett didn’t shy away from the topic here Thursday, addressing the Greenville Rotary Club’s first meeting of the new year and its first at The Chef’s Table Restaurant.
