Attorney General Strawber…sorry, McGraw is in the crosshairs of his state’s editorial boards, and they will not be letting up. Expect solid candidates, both Republican and Democrat, to emerge to run against McGraw this year.
“Only the attorney general’s office could find itself in the position of bringing in an $11.6 million settlement for tax relief and being criticized,” Hughes said.Her comment involved the reaction to an announcement by Attorney General Darrell McGraw, who has tentatively settled in a lawsuit against two credit card companies. He bragged that $12.1 million of the amount to be paid by the companies will be used to grant tax relief to West Virginians. Later, it was determined that someone in the attorney general’s office miscalculated; the amount actually is $11.6 million.
