Governor Spitzer outlined his proposed $124 billion budget for the upcoming year on Tuesday, and now Senate Republicans are responding.
Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno said the governor forgot to think about the taxpayers’ best interest.
The people in this state are overtaxed, overburdened. We are less competitive with other states. I think where we are, depending on what you put in the equation, 50 or 79 percent higher in taxes per household than the national average. That’s unacceptable.”
