There will be no biggest loser jokes. Though, we bet if General Corbett had Jillian working for him, no company would try to rip off consumers.
State Attorney General Tom Corbett is suing a national weight-loss chain and its owner after the company suddenly closed its doors, leaving more than 850 customers in the lurch.
Pure Weight Loss Inc. and owner Vahan Karian are named in the consumer protection lawsuit filed late Thursday. The suit alleges deceptive marketing and sales of long-term contracts for weight loss supplements, pre-packaged food and weight loss counseling services.
The company, based in Horsham, had about 400 stores across the country, including several in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
