Oh, this sounds like a great idea – an individual state getting involved in health care pricing…soon it’ll be time to stand in a gigantic line just to buy a reduced cost band aid.
Attorney General Martha Coakley says the state’s new health care law mandating that everyone buy coverage is at risk of collapsing due to surging costs and that her office will become increasingly involved in efforts to control spending – possibly to the point of advocating state regulation of health insurance rates.”Rising health care costs threaten to cause our state’s universal health reform effort to collapse, even if the economy stabilizes and we dodge a recession,” Coakley told the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce at a Tuesday morning breakfast.
