JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) — Senate Republicans have turned down a Democratic attempt to make it harder to shut off filibusters in Missouri.
Right now, it takes only a simple majority vote to halt a filibuster.
Senate Minority Leader Maida Coleman has complained that Republicans have used their majority too often to stifle
dissent by Democrats and push bills to votes.
