The statewide presidential primary election having been conducted barely a week ago, and contested races at the national, state and local levels being expected throughout the summer and fall, members of a local anti-litter group plan to make the organization’s collective voice heard.
Members of the Autauga County chapter of People Against a Littered State have targeted the present, past and prospective candidates in past and upcoming races — and their supporters –for illegally placing political signs near public streets, roads and highways.
Present Alabama Attorney General Troy King wrote — and former Attorney General Bill Pryor issued — an opinion several years ago that made the signage illegal.
