State Rep. Pat Haggerty and his Republican primary challenger Dee Margo, chairman and CEO of JDW Insurance, have raised a combined total of more than $707,200, according to reports filed with the Texas Ethics Commission. And the money is still flowing in as the two slog it out in the last eight days before voters decide who will compete for the GOP in November’s election to represent Northeast and West El Paso.
The race is one of a few pivotal contests statewide that could determine whether embattled Republican House Speaker Tom Craddick continues to lead the chamber.
