Here’s what WON’T
happen if the Democrats take over the Iowa House of Representatives:
Abortion
restrictions. New limits would be nonstarters in a Democratic Statehouse.
Gay
marriage ban. It's unlikely a constitutional amendment banning gay unions would
be debated.
Malpractice
cap. Most Democrats oppose capping noneconomic legal awards in malpractice
cases.
Death
penalty. Even though both candidates for governor support capital punishment, a
Democratic Legislature is unlikely to allow a vote.
