GAYLORD — Residential customers of Gaylord Gas, Petoskey Propane and their affiliates, who feel they were overcharged for gas are being offered refunds and credits, following an agreement between the attorney general’s office and Kansas City-based Inergy Propane.
In return, the attorney general’s office is dropping legal action against the company for alleged “price gouging.”
The agreement, announced Wednesday, “resolves claims of excessive pricing of propane,” according to a release from Attorney General Mike Cox’s office. Cox announced action against Inergy Propane earlier this month for its “excessive pricing of propane gas,” citing prices upward of $4.39 a gallon, but has dropped all action following the agreement.
The agreement itself does not speak to allegations of price gouging.
