CT: Prostitution Ads Put Craigslist in Hot Water

Some states use sex ads on craigslist to bust pervs… CT says no thanks, rather censor.

Craigslist, we have a problem. No, not the baby being sold for drug money earlier this week — that was a hoax and the person who placed the ad was arrested.

Not the malicious ad placed last Saturday that left a Jacksonville, Ore., man with a plundered home, recalling a similar incident last May.

The problem is prostitution. Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal on Thursday sent a letter to Barry Reingold, Craigslist’s lawyer, demanding that the community-driven site clean up its act.

“I am astonished and appalled by Craigslist’s refusal to recognize the reality of prostitution on its Web site — despite advertisements containing graphic photographs and hourly rates, and widespread public reports of prostitutes using the site,” Blumenthal wrote.

Though Blumenthal acted on behalf of citizens of Connecticut, following the arrest earlier this month of a Connecticut woman who allegedly used Craigslist to advertise prostitution services, his concerns reflect problems with Craigslist across the nation.

let the people do what they want on craigslist! who cares if people are prostituating. there are worse crimes than that going on in ct like robbery, murders, drug dealing something much more life threatening than people having sex! we might as well close down strip joints if prostitution is such a problem! Tax dollars are being wasted because these damn cops and state have nothing better to do with their time than intervine in other peoples lives who want to get paid for sex. I mean people pay for everything else! Leave craigslist alone and move on to something worth wasting our tax dollars on! my tax dollars!

You’re wrong to then say drug dealing is a problem, drugs should be legal for the same reasons as prostitution.

Concentrate on the drugs. People have been in affairs for years.

I just will not ever marry a man. Because either single or married a man will do this with a woman of the night if he wants.
Wifes should just get a divorce. GF dump him.
Murder, rape, drugs etc…..are more important. Leave CL alone concentrate on drugs only.

Just leave the girls alone. Jeeze.
