Yes, the title of these things changes over time, but at least we keep it fresh. Ok, on to business (read it all, there’s a sweet video at the end):

The Youngstown Vindicator, Marc Dann’s hometown newspaper, was the recipient of a curious email message from then Dann spokesdude Leo Jennings that reads a bit like a threat.

Todd: The Columbus Dispatch today published a story regarding a sexual harassment complaint filed by two employees of the AG’s office against our General Services Director. It is important for you to know that this story contains substantive errors, including errors that may be legally actionable. If you consider running this story in the Vindicator I would appreciate having the opportunity to speak to a reporter so I can correct those errors.

The Lebanon Western Star comes out today with more detail on just what has been happening at the A.G.’s office with the senior staff and junior employees:

On Oct. 3, Stankoski, Gutierrez and two other employees dropped off state vehicles in Cincinnati and Stankoski ended up riding back to Columbus with Gutierrez but stopped at a bar where Gutierrez used vulgar language to say that her good looks got her the job.

Then, also in early October, Stankoski met Gutierrez, Jennings and Jennifer Urban, an assistant attorney general, at Mitchell’s Ocean Club, a pricey Columbus-area restaurant. While outside smoking a cigarette, Gutierrez repeatedly told Stankoski he wanted to have sex.

Next, and still interesting- the Cleveland Plain Dealer has the text messages and notes from the investigation:

“Girl. . .im in a weird situation. .iem w marc dan. . . .drunnnnk,” the 26-year-old woman writes in one of nine messages sent before she fell asleep.

“Lol. . .i lnve u. . .im here with boss amd marc dann. . .,” she writes. She follows that with, “Lol. . . .wasted. .love u. . .give details io the am.”

She later writes that she’s “trashed,” and then in another of the one-line messages mentions that Dann’s scheduler, Jessica Utovich, is there.

“Umm. . .im at marc danns place. . .pick me up,” she writes.

And then from the investigator’s notes:

The notes say the woman who wrote the text messages said that Gutierrez never asked her about her resume during her job interview before she was hired in August 2007. Instead, according to the notes, the woman said she “felt like he was undressing her w/ his eyes, biting lip.”

The woman said she felt pressured to join Gutierrez for drinks on Sept. 10. She said he bragged about his power, his construction business and his hatred for his wife. Sometime after that night, he told her that despite her pants being unbuttoned, he “didn’t do anything” although he wanted to have sex with her.

The woman also said Gutierrez got drunk one evening and hit a guardrail with his state vehicle. He would often call her and leave messages, she said, and the attention didn’t subside until the November hiring of the other woman who has filed a complaint.

Ok, that wasn’t the last part – this is the last part – and it’s worth your time. Some quality video of Marc Dann doing his best to stay on message, or get the reporters off the whole his office is the Delta House message, and control the story environment. It just isn’t working. For one thing, he’s emphatic about never even considering resigning – so emphatic he stumbles over his answer. And another, and this is the fun part, he stumbles again over the talking point about holding the people accountable who hurt consumers – gotta wonder what was crossing his mind when he was trying to talk about holding people accountable. Yeah, doing a great job for the people of Ohio Marc – real great.
