State Attorney General Anne Milgram plans to release a training video to clear the confusion among some local officials over her directive last summer that police alert immigration officials when they arrest illegal immigrants for certain crimes, her spokesman said.
Milgram ordered police to notify immigration officials about illegal immigrants they arrest for an indictable crime or drunken driving. But critics of the directive and some local authorities have said that there is confusion over where police should draw the line at asking about immigration status.
