From Al.com:
ALABAMIANS SHOULD demand a better explanation of the status of 22 parolees most of them sex offenders who were supposed to be monitored through a Global Positioning System.
State officials have offered differing accounts of who the offenders are and how they got into the program. Attorney General Troy King and Pardons and Parole board executive director Cynthia Dillard do agree that the controversial GPS system is no longer being used.
But it is unclear how the offenders are being monitored; and along the way, the number of men reportedly involved has nearly doubled, from 12 to 22.
