Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office filed a housing discrimination complaint late Tuesday in Franklin Superior Court in Greenfield against a mobile home park in Orange for violation of the state’s anti-discrimination laws.
The complaint alleges that Leisure Woods Estates, owner of Leisure Woods Mobile Home Park, 519 E. River St., violated state law by failing to permit a disabled homeowner to install a handicap ramp to his property.
The homeowner listed in the complaint is Alan Bergquist, 64, who has lived in the park with his wife since 1993.
Mr. Bergquist recently underwent multiple foot surgeries.
The surgeries resulted in a permanent physical disability, which makes it extremely difficult for him to walk without assistance and to navigate the stairs to his home.
