From the Delta Democrat Times:
Battle lines have been drawn within the Washington County Election Commissioners office, and both sides have turned to the state attorney general’s office to determine the victor.
Commissioners Bettye Wilson, Sadie Seard, Linda Boschert and Pearlie Holmes appeared before the Washington County Board of Supervisors Monday to lodge a complaint against recently appointed Commissioner Jo Cille Hafter.
Wilson, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, told county officials that Hafter has not completed the election processes for District 2 that would allow the commission to close out the primary election.
“We can not close out the primary election until this work is done,” WIlson said. “I don’t know why this work has not been done, and I’m not pointing any fingers.”
However, the commissioners did accuse Hafter of restoring inactive voters in her district to active status, without the approval of the majority of the commission.
