Do you need a reason to believe in the mission of the RSLC? Do you need more evidence of the positive work that the RSLC is doing at the state and local level? From the Virginia based Commonwealth Conversations:
To reconstruct our Party – we must give voters a reason to believe in our leaders and candidates for office once again. Our Party is the Party of free enterprise, the entrepreneurial spirit and individual liberty. By sticking to core principals, we can put forth ideas to advance opportunity in a global economy, educate more scientists and engineers to develop independent and alternative energy sources, provide affordable health care, and keep our state and nation strong. Through motivating ideas, we were able to bring independents to our side throughout the ‘90s and into this century. We need to get back to that point.
An example can be found in the down-ticket races in 2006 – the beginning of the tempest – where Republicans held their ground and even made some gains. Republicans demonstrated we can compete in blue states by picking up seats such as the Wisconsin Attorney General. Even while losing the U.S. Senate election, Republicans kept control of the hotly-contested Ohio state house. Republicans also made gains in 10 other legislative chambers. How? These candidates proved that voters are motivated by ideas and issues.
