You gotta feel for Ohio’s disgraced former Democrat A.G. – well not really – but seriously – if so much as picked his nose in public, somebody’s going to investigate it. Marc Dann will be the new horse that somebody – probably more than one somebody – rides to victory in November 08. From the Associated Press:
Ohio’s auditor has launched a special investigation into allegations that public funds were misused in former Attorney General Marc Dann’s administration.
Auditor Mary Taylor, a Republican, said in a statement Wednesday that she can’t reveal details about the alleged financial improprieties while the audit is being conducted.
Dann resigned last month amid a sexual harassment scandal in his office. An internal investigation into the scandal also uncovered allegations that a top aide, Anthony Gutierrez, ran a construction business out of the attorney general’s office.
In an e-mail Wednesday, Dann said he was not aware of any misuse of public funds.
“I continue to look forward to the day when the full truth about operations and management of the attorney general’s office are brought to light,” Dann, a Democrat, wrote. Taylor should take appropriate action if any misuse is identified, he added.
