PA: GOP Wants Full Disclosure of Local Dem’s Campaign Workers

Montgomery County Republicans are demanding that state Rep. Rick Taylor, a Horsham Democrat, provide “full disclosure” of all workers involved in his 2006 campaign and reimburse the state more than $15,000 that went to a House employee who, along with 11 others, has been charged with illegally accepting taxpayers’ money for political activity.

In a statement issued Monday, Montgomery County Republican Committee Chairman Robert J. Kerns said: “Rick Taylor has to come clean to the voters and list all people who helped his campaign so that we can ensure that no other state employees were performing political activity on state time.”

Taylor’s campaign manager, Danny Friedman, on Monday said Taylor is outraged about the actions that led to state Attorney General Tom Corbett’s charges last Thursday against 12 people after an investigation that uncovered the illegal use of millions of dollars in taxpayers’ funds, resources and state employees for political campaign purposes.

“If convicted, these rogue operatives should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, including full restitution by those convicted to the taxpayers of Pennsylvania,” he said. “Unfortunately, the Republican attack machine is now on the move … (Taylor) has made certain that there are no state employees on his campaign staff.”
