Louisiana Democrat AG Caldwell Faces Recall Effort

From Legal News Line:

A recall petition was filed Tuesday against Louisiana Attorney General James “Buddy” Caldwell, the secretary of state’s office said.

Josephine Lovoi of suburban New Orleans filed the petition, complaining that the Democratic attorney general and his predecessors have not done enough to protect victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita from fraud, among other things.

Lovoi says she lost her Metairie, La., home in the 2005 storms.

To force a recall election, Lovoi must collect more than 880,000 valid signatures from Louisiana voters. She has 180 days to collect the signatures, the secretary of state’s office said.

In a statement, Caldwell said Lovoi has filed hurricane-related and other complaints with both his office and the former attorney general’s office.

“The past administration found them to be unsubstantiated. We have reviewed those files. She has also contacted this office regarding various additional complaints, all of which have been reviewed,” Caldwell said. “We have concluded that her complaints are without merit.”

Caldwell, the longtime former district attorney from Tallulah, La., was elected last year with more than 67 percent of the vote, unseating fellow Democrat Charles Foti Jr.

In an earlier interview with Legal Newsline, Caldwell said he believed his office would be focused on issues related to the 2005 hurricanes for the foreseeable future.

It appears that Mr. Caldwell is not completely savvy about the complaints that have been registered in his office and he is getting 2nd hand information for others as well. At no time has Buddy Caldwell contacted me and he wants to let the public believe that he did all of the work that is necessary to do investigations and he has done NOTHING.

Buddy Caldwell is doing what is called “SELECTIVE PROSECUTION. He, like Jim Letten and David Dugas, both U. S. Attorney’ under the BUSH administration are picking and choosing what they want to prosecute in my case alone I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT I AM BEING RETALIATED AGAINST for bringing forth information of alleged criminal activity of public officials on the federal and state level. So the stategy for them is to IGNORE any alleged crimes that I have brought forth. One thing they have to remember they are not the final word on anything.

Take for instance the cases of USA vs. PERDIGAO and PERDIGAO vs. ADAMS and REESE……I allege that Mr. Perdigao is approximately 13 years behind me for reporting the crime of officials anyone can review the federal case of LOVOI vs. TREASURE CHEST CASINO, BOYD GAMING and ROBERT GUIDRY and see the facts of how EDDIE JORDAN, JR. and JIM LETTEN obstructed justice, committed subbordinating perjury and God know what else. THE CASE SPEAKS for itself filed in the New Orleans federal courthouse closed section. There is also a federal court order that a federal judge agreed with me that the LOUISIANA STATE LAW IS BEING VIOLATED…….The Louisiana Attorney GENERALS have IGNORED all issues about the matter and have allowed Louisiana Laws to violated and the reason for this is I allege that they are doing favors for companys that bring in revenue for the State of Louisiana. THEY TURN THEIR HEADS and it is we, the citizens of Louisiana who have to suffer.

Buddy Caldwell should be prosecuting Charles Foti, Louisiana Attorney General and Jim Letten, current U. S. Attorney in New Orleans for misleading the Katrina victims.

Charles Foti and Jim Letten made a TV COMMERCIAL (not sure where the money came from to produce the commercial) and mislead the Katrina victims by telling them to telephone the phone number that was given out in the TV commercial.

After Katrina, there was A LOT of FRAUD and FRAUD IS STILL GOING ON. Alberto Gonzales, former U. S. Attorney General PROMISED “ZERO TOLERANCE OF KATRINA FRAUD.” Mr. Gonzales assigned this task to an individual under him and expected it to be followed out. An FBI Task Force hotline was set up to report fraud. I can’t begin to tell you how many times it was necessary for me to call that line and then I started realizing I wasn’t being called back. Charles Foti and Jim Letten I allege committed FRAUD that FBI Task Force Hotline was set up for ALL FRAUD COMPLAINTS…….fraud is fraud no matter shape it takes. Charles Foti and Jim Letten were NOT FOLLOWING ALBERTO GONZALES PROMISE, INSTRUCTIONS and I allege Jim Letten and David Dugas to had been insubordinate to their superior. In any normal company that would be grounds for termination!!!!!!!!!!! And Buddy Caldwell professes that “he is in good company with Jim Letten!!!!!!”

We don’t know what was investigated or not. THERE HAS BEEN NO STATISTICS OR ANY AUDIT and we DON’T HEAR MUCH ABOUT ANY PROSECUTIONS.

When I contacted the local FBI office and spoke with an agent and told him my story he BEGGED that I contact my Congressman (then Bobby Jindal) and ask for more FBI agents to be sent to NEw Orleans because they were not given the support that they needed. James Bernazzani, FBI Special Agent in Charge in New Orleans QUIT!!!!!

Should you have any questions in this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. lasfjc2002@yahoo.com
