Meth Coffee? You definitely have to score them high on creativity, but their commonsense score is a real buzz kill. What’s the point of the stuff – to keep you wired. It’s just another player in the bid to capture a share of the energy drink/product market. Favorite two words ever for Meth Coffee fans? Dude! Sweet! From Chicago Sun Times:
The back of the package for Meth Coffee suggests drinkers “chew them whole, snort the powder dry, cook it over a lighter and huff. . . .”
But Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is having none of it.
Madigan is demanding a San Francisco company stop what she calls the misleading marketing and sale of the coffee.
“Parody or not, it’s still glorifying drug use and it’s sending a terrible message,” said Madigan’s spokeswoman Robyn Ziegler.
In a letter sent this week to Doll God LLC, Madigan demanded the company cease marketing and sales of Meth Coffee in Illinois.
Madigan said the product’s sale here violates several state laws in its comparison to illicit drugs.
“Significant resources have been devoted to combating the methamphetamine epidemic in our state, and we are deeply concerned that your marketing of Meth Coffee will perpetuate the use of this devastating drug,” Madigan wrote.
