When Tennessee’s out of control state senate Democrats are pulling antics like this out of their hats, you know they can see that their chances of getting control of the Lieutenant Governor’s chair are deader than this guy. From the Tennessean.com:
The state primaries have ended, but along Dunbar Cave Road in Clarksville, a few scattered campaign signs remain, roadside remnants of the bitter Democratic Senate contest decided by just 19 votes.
The race for the District 22 seat, which includes Montgomery, Cheatham and Houston counties, is not officially over. The loser, Tim Barnes, has refused to concede to incumbent state Sen. Rosalind Kurita; in days since, he has gathered statements alleging campaign irregularities, and plans to formally contest the results this week.
While it remains unclear whether Barnes, a Clarksville attorney, can succeed in overturning the outcome, the vote casts into sharp relief the discontent with Kurita in the district over one of the most controversial votes she’s cast: crossing the aisle to support Republican Ron Ramsey as lieutenant governor.
