Republican AG candidate Mike Crites is showing early what’s going to set him apart from his Democrat opponent in the race to replace disgraced former A.G. Marc Dann. Once again, and you’ll see this as you read the article, Democrat candidate Richard Cordray wants to to do nothing to shake up the political status quo in Columbus – hence the statement issued by his campaign calling for caution in rooting out public corruption – you never know what you’ll find we guess. In truth, Cordray knows he loses a fight on ethics reform and fighting corruption against former federal prosecutor Mike Crites – and that’s why his response every time on this issue will be an attempt to change the subject. This election is about ethics reform and fighting corruption in Columbus – and Mike Crites will win because of that. From Ohio.com:
The Republican candidate for Ohio attorney general Tuesday suggested a new state commission to probe public corruption.
Columbus lawyer Mike Crites said he hopes to convince the Legislature to establish an Ohio Public Corruption Commission that would investigate possible wrongdoing by state and local officials if there is evidence of potential felonies.
He made the announcement in Cuyahoga County, where last month’s FBI and IRS raids on the homes and offices of a commissioner and auditor touched off concerns over whether public officials routinely breach the public trust.
Crites is running against Democratic Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray and independent Robert Owens.
