In 1994, Charlie Copeland took over a small, family-owned printing company and grew it into an industry leader employing many local residents. As a businessman, Charlie has proven his ability to serve and lead people, create jobs, overcome obstacles, meet a budget, and make tough decisions in the real world. Now more than ever, these are the skills we as taxpayers need in Dover.

Charlie is also a proven reformer and citizen activist. In 2002, fed up with a state government that was simply spending too much and wasting too much, he stood up and successfully ran for State Senate. As a State Senator, Charlie has led the fight to rein in out-of-control spending as well as make government more open, honest and accountable.

Charlie has repeatedly called for limited, achievable cuts in government spending – cuts that would have helped prevent this year’s state budget crisis. He has been a leader in the effort to fix the problems in the state corrections system. And, Charlie is the prime sponsor of a comprehensive legislative package that will end the days of backroom deals and political games – and once again put taxpayers and citizens back in control of their government.

Today Charlie Copeland is running to be Delaware’s next Republican Lieutenant Governor because he thinks, lost most Delawareans, that 16 years of one party control has sent Delaware down the wrong course or run away taxes and out of control spending.  As Lieutenant Governor Charlie will put his real world business experience to work, reforming and fixing Delaware’s state government so it’s more accountable and responsive to the needs of Delaware’s citizens – regardless of party.
