From eMissourian.com:
“We have four bipartisan teams that are trained and ready to do the recount. If it’s a mechanical recount, the secretary of state has an established process that we follow. If it is determined that it will be a hand recount, the local election judges administer the process,” Door explained. Door said that either way, the recount will not change the outcome of the race in Franklin County. She said that the last statewide recount occurred in the August 2006 Republican primary race for auditor between Jack Jackson and Sandra Thomas.
After the recount was performed, Jackson gained two more votes and Thomas lost five votes. The hand recount took two days to complete, according to Door.
Door said she understands the need for a recount but is frustrated by the lawsuits because they are going to delay her office’s preparations for the November election.
“This stops us dead in our tracks. We don’t know whose name is going to appear on the ballot and the ballots are already at the printer. As far as the recount goes, my feeling is let’s get on with it because we have other business we need to get working on for November,” Door added.
