We found this article so fascinating, that we did some quick digging and found some audio of the General’s comments. Very enlightening – so we have that going for us…which is nice. From Tulsa World:
WASHINGTON — Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson said Wednesday that arrests of a few doctors for prescribing drugs inappropriately scares the “bejesus” out of the rest of the medical community.
Testifying before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, Edmondson linked that concern to the large number of Americans who suffer pain that could be managed. Those numbers, he said, include as many as 50 million Americans and as many as 40 percent of the nation’s nursing home residents.
