From the Bennington Banner:
With about five weeks to go before Election Day, Republican Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie has taken to the road, where he says he will talk to Vermonters about his record over the past six years. Dubie, known for his laid-back approach to campaigning, officially announced this week his intention to seek a fourth term as Vermont’s second-in-command.
The announcement was certainly not a surprise, but was delayed when the American Airlines pilot and member of the Air Force Reserve was deployed to Florida earlier this month to help with Hurricane Ike relief.
Dubie said the economy and how Vermonters will pay to heat their homes are the major issues on the minds of voters. According to Dubie, the state is well positioned to weather a poor economic outlook because of an “unmet need for housing” that “will help drive economy.”
