Millions of taxpayer dollars – what a train wreck Pennsylvania Democrats are this year. From philly.com:
A former House leader and three more co-defendants on Tuesday waived their right to a preliminary hearing on charges that they helped divert millions of taxpayer dollars and other public resources to run campaigns.
Former House Democratic Whip Mike Veon and the aides signed waiver papers in a brief proceeding before Dauphin County Judge President Judge Richard A. Lewis. Six other aides had previously waived the hearings, at which defense attorneys can challenge prosecutors’ evidence.
Of the 12 people charged in a corruption scandal that has been a cloud over the Capitol for nearly two years, two still awaited a preliminary hearing to begin later Tuesday morning: state Rep. Sean Ramaley, the only sitting legislator who has been charged, and Anna Marie Perretta-Rosepink, a former legislative assistant in Veon’s district office.
