Attorney General Roy Cooper is seeking $1 million in state money to continue a lawsuit claiming that emissions from Tennessee Valley Authority power plants are fouling North Carolina’s air.
The state’s fiscal 2009 budget would transfer funds from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to a litigation reserve. Those funds would be in addition to a request from the Cooper-led Department of Justice for $2.2 million for a special litigation reserve fund.
