From Tulsa World:
They were a bit jovial, but their business was sobering. In a few short days, they will learn if Republicans take control of the Senate for the first time in state history. The upper chamber currently is tied with 24 Democrats and 24 Republicans.
They were in Sand Springs to convince voters in Senate District 37 to send Sen. Nancy Riley,D-Sand Springs, back to the upper chamber on Nov. 4.
They dispersed to knock on doors and hand out fliers. Riley, running in a district with more Republicans than Democrats, has been a GOP target since switching parties following a failed bid for lieutenant governor. She said Senate Republican Leader Glenn Coffee treated her abhorrently when she was a member of his caucus.
