From the Tennessean:
The GOP’s Election Day gains, which few lawmakers from either party expected, have shaken up the legislature in ways big and small. Republican leadership probably would mean that bills that had long been blocked by Democrats, including pro-gun measures and a long-stymied constitutional amendment on abortion, suddenly have far brighter prospects for passage in the new GOP-controlled landscape.
The constitutional amendment on abortion, which would specify that nothing in the state constitution secures or protects abortion rights, has met its demise several times in a House subcommittee dominated by Democrats.
