State Rep.-elect Jim Christiana was surprised Monday when he started getting calls on his personal cell phone from constituents who said they got his number from a recorded message after calling outgoing state Rep. Vince Biancucci’s Center Township office.

The message, recorded by Biancucci, D-15, Center, told callers that his office at 214B Pleasant Drive couldn’t provide constituent services after last Friday.

“I will no longer be in position to serve the citizens of the 15th District,” Biancucci said, before directing people to call “the representative-elect” on his cell phone.

Biancucci lost to Christiana, a Republican Beaver councilman, in the Nov. 4 election, but his term doesn’t officially end until Nov. 30. This isn’t the first time an incident such as this has occurred, though.
