PHOENIX — The head of the Senate Finance Committee is moving to repeal Arizona’s property tax — which is currently on temporary hold.
Sen. Jim Waring, R-Phoenix, has crafted legislation that would permanently repeal the levy.
The funds are not now being collected, the result of a deal between Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano and Republican legislative leaders in 2006 when the state was collecting more money than it needed.
