From OnlineAthens:
When constituents call two Athens-area state representatives, they won’t hear any flushing sounds after all.
State Rep. Tommy Benton, R-Jefferson, joked last year that House Speaker Glenn Richardson might move his office to the men’s room if a coup against the speaker failed. But Benton and state Rep. Terry England, R-Auburn, another critic who’s now back in the fold, said Richardson promised not to punish them for opposing his leadership. England said he met with Richardson last month to clear the air after backing a failed attempt to install state Rep. David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, in the House of Representatives’ most powerful position. Richardson was re-elected 75-25 at a House Republican caucus meeting in November.
