Now this is a great way to start off 2009, and the 2010 campaign season. Troy Eid certainly has the goods to be a successful A.G. candidate. And, since he’s fully aware of just how tough it is to raise real campaign bucks under Colorado law, he’s doing the right thing by getting started now. A very good top tier AG candidate for the state of Colorado to succeed another great Colorado A.G. (and former U.S. Attorney) John Suthers – even if he is a golden domer – who’s been mentioned as a strong possible candidate for the U.S. Senate. From the Denver Post:
Colorado U.S. Attorney Troy Eid announced today that he will resign from office the day before a new presidential administration is inaugurated and will run for attorney general in 2010.
Eid will first rejoin the private firm Greenberg Traurig, where he worked from 2003 to 2006, but also announced his intention to seek the attorney general’s post in 2010. Attorney General John Suthers is expected to seek either the governor’s office or a senate spot that fall.
