From Coloradoan.com:
Larimer County Republican activists picked state Rep. Kevin Lundberg to fill a vacant Senate seat Saturday, in the process displaying internal divisions over the party’s future.
“I will not back away just because it may be uncomfortable for the politically correct crowd,” Lundberg, a Berthoud businessman who’s been a leading GOP voice on a number of social issues, told 128 Republican precinct leaders at the Pulliam Community Building.
The GOP precinct leaders voted 86-42 to select Lundberg over Mike Lynch, an Army veteran and owner of a specialty belt-buckle manufacturer in Loveland.
