From OnlineAthens:
Former Athens state Sen. Brian Kemp, looking to return to politics, said Monday he’ll run for secretary of state in 2010.
Incumbent Karen Handel announced Sunday she’ll run for governor, opening up the Secretary of State’s Office. Kemp, a Republican, said he will file paperwork to run as soon as Handel files hers.
“Secretary of state is a really good fit for me, serving in the state Senate for two terms and being a businessman,” Kemp said.
