IL: Dem State Rep. Skips Impeachment Vote for Caribbean Cruise

Uh…for a moment we were struck silent by this one.  But, it didn’t last long.  It’s no doubt that Governor Rod Blagojevich was sharing the same dream as Rep. Dunkin – wishing he too was off on some great Caribbean cruise.  Who knows, maybe Rep. Dunkin’s fellow House members will lose their cool when he steps in the room.  Clearly Rep. Dunkin was just in search of a good time, just running his game.  Work was probably the furthest thing from his mind.

We’ll tell you this – heads turn whenever Governor Blagojevich walks into the room, but not because he’s a dream.  Though Rep. Dunkin might feel differently.  Wonder if those to love to go on runs.  Think we’re off our rocker finally – hardly.  Click here for our inspiration.  From the Chicago Sun Times:

For one of the most important votes in the state’s legislative history, Rep. Ken Dunkin was on a Caribbean cruise with his family.

Dunkin, one of the few legislators who has found common ground with Gov. Blagojevich, said the trip was planned before he knew of the vote to impeach the governor.

That vote went against Blagojevich Friday by a 114-1 margin. Dunkin said he would have voted to impeach Blagojevich, even though the Chicago Democrat has said he had a “working relationship that was positive,” with the governor and previously called the impeachment process a “witch hunt.”
