The first of several likely Republican candidates looking to succeed Republican A.G. Mike Cox, who is widely expected to run for governor, in 2010. From the Battle Creek Enquirer:
A Republican state senator from Wayne County’s Canton Township is exploring a run for Michigan attorney general in 2010.
Bruce Patterson is the first attorney general candidate to form a campaign committee allowing him to raise and spend money. He made the announcement today.
Republican and Democratic candidates for attorney general will be selected at state party conventions next year. Attorney General Mike Cox can’t run again because of term limits.
