From MyFox Washington, DC:
The Republican majority in Virginia’s House of Delegates refused to seat Democrat Charniele Herring as the winner of Tuesday’s special election in Alexandria. The State Board of Elections declared Herring the winner over Republican Joe Murray by 16 votes out of more than 2,600 votes cast.
But Republicans in the House had been advised that Murray would ask for a recount, and argued that the seat for the 46th District should remain vacant until that recount was completed.
