From Rocky Mountain News:
Provisions for tolls on existing public roads and a fee based on miles driven must be removed from a major transportation funding bill if it is to get bipartisan support, Republican leaders say.
Sen. Dan Gibbs, D-Silverthorne, will introduce the proposal today, nearly two weeks after Democrats publicly floated the idea. Since that time, he and Littleton Democratic Rep. Joe Rice have been meeting with Republicans, business groups and constituents to find ways around their disagreements.
Lawmakers hope to raise about $250 million to fix 125 bridges and catch up on road maintenance projects over four years.
