From the Post-Tribune:
Attorney General Greg Zoeller touted a proposed law Thursday he said would freeze the assets of defendants like those in the racketeering case targeting former East Chicago Mayor Robert Pastrick.
Testifying for the first time before the General Assembly, Zoeller called Senate Bill 353 an important tool in fighting public corruption.
The bill would allow the Attorney General’s Office to place liens on property and other assets owned by the targets of public corruption investigations early in the process.
