Now if only Dick “Richard” Blumenthal would run…he won’t. From the Hartford Courant:
It’s the age of exploration.
Stamford Mayor Dannel P. Malloy created an exploratory committee Tuesday that will allow him to finance the early stages of a campaign for governor.
Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz did the same thing Monday, a development she announced by e-mail hours before Malloy addressed supporters and reporters about his filing.
Exploratory committees suddenly have become a crucial political tool in Connecticut, where new campaign finance laws limit how much can be raised by declared candidates.
