From the Politico:
“Rob and I are friends, and we’ve talked over the last few months about a lot of things,” DeWine said. ”I’ve got to go through my own assessment.”
DeWine also is considering a campaign for governor against Democrat Ted Strickland — or for the state’s attorney general position.
A recently-released Quinnipiac poll showed DeWine with fairly strong approval ratings: 45 percent of Ohio voters view him favorably, while 23 percent view him unfavorably. He has higher name identification than both Portman and former GOP congressman John Kasich, who is mulling a run for governor.
For you AG watchers out there, keep an eye on this one. A Dewine vs. Cordray match up would be huge in Ohio in ’10. It might put Cordray’s job in Jeopardy.
